Our Mission

FreightValidate is dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of the freight industry by providing a real-time compliance screening platform that helps shippers, brokers, and carriers identify, assess, and mitigate fraud risks.

At FreightValidate, every carrier and broker starts with a clean record. A company's screening status is determined solely by what public federal and state records show about its compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and filing obligations.

Our initial compliance screening reviews whether carriers and brokers meet key regulatory requirements, including:

• Active Motor Carrier Authority & DOT Number
• Compliance with Principal Place of Business Regulations (49 CFR § 390.5T): No P.O. boxes or virtual addresses; a physical location is required.
• Active Unified Carrier Registration (UCR): Compliance with the Unified Carrier Registration Act of 2005 (49 USC § 14504a), ensuring carriers and brokers properly register and maintain UCR requirements.
• Disclosure of Affiliation with Other FMCSA-Regulated Entities (49 CFR § 386.73, 49 CFR § 387.309, 49 CFR § 390.19): Transparency in company ownership and associations.
• No documented fraud history or double brokering activity

Each screening results in one of three status indicators:

• Green Check: Passed Initial Screening. No apparent violations of federal or state requirements were identified. The entity is ready to proceed to your formal vetting process.
• Yellow Warning: Screening Recommended. One or more items, such as reports of potential fraud, compliance concerns, or contact information (email, phone number, or principal place of business) shared with other entities, warrant additional review before vetting. A Yellow Warning does not necessarily indicate non-compliance.
• Red X: Violations Found in Initial Screening. Compliance concerns were identified that should be further investigated and corrected or explained before the formal vetting process begins.

No status indicator is a safety rating, endorsement, recommendation, approval, or carrier selection decision. FreightValidate is the first step in the process, not a substitute for comprehensive carrier, broker, and freight forwarder vetting, monitoring, or evaluation. Our initial screening does not evaluate safety performance, driver fitness, or mechanical condition. We strongly recommend using FreightValidate alongside onboarding companies, your compliance department, and other trusted industry resources, so you can apply your own safety standards, insurance requirements, and risk tolerance before making a documented, defensible selection decision.
